The Emanuel County
Sheriff’s Detention
Center
is
located at 769 Kite Road (Georgia Highway 57 West) and
houses inmates for the county, state and federal government. Most of
these inmates
are awaiting trial or sentencing; although some have been sentenced to
serve a
short period of incarceration at the jail.
The Emanuel County
Sheriff’s Detention
Center
is a state of the art facility, capable of holding a maximum of 120
inmates.
Inmates of the detention center are served meals through a contracted
vendor
and have access to medical, dental and mental health care.
Jail staff and patrol
deputies assist in the transportation
of inmates to and from court and health care visits.
Inmates of the jail are
provided visitation with family
members on Sundays. Money is accepted for inmates during normal
business hours
during the week (8am-5pm).
